Man Working At Speedspools Monotype Printers At Gayfield Place Lane 1992

About this memory

Speedspools was the last of the monotype printers to survive in Edinburgh. Output comprised mainly of specialist publications, such as a Gaelic translation of the Bible.

The owner Harry MacIntosh had over the years acquired a large collection of old printing machinery and dies.

The premises have since been demolished.
