Adults in second front row – Miss Hamilton, Mr Ball (rector of the Royal High School, unknown, Mrs McGregor (née Henderson). Both ladies were teachers at the Royal High preparatory school.

“[The land was] bought by Safeways and developed in the 80s. The playing fields were part of the school’s World War One War Memorial, opened by Prince Henry in 1925.

“I am fifth along to the right of Mrs McGregor.” – Jim Dignall [2005]
