About this memory

1963 – The plaque denotes that my Great Grandfather Robert Sommerville Legget 1815-1900 owned, this tenement in Dean Path (opposite the playground) which housed his workers (Skinners) that worked for him in the Tannery.

The tenement was demolished in the late 1950s early 1960s and rebuilt in 1963 after 80 years (with the Castle motif shown which was associated with Edinburgh Corporation).
