March 16 1910 – This is one of two pages copied from one of the large history books that had been stored in the Orphan Homes Of Scotland Archives.

Some of the details recorded state the following “Ann Isabella born 6th August 1902 at Highbury, London 17. Barbara Elliot born 8th April 1905 at Freemantle, W. Australia”.

Father William Lindsay Grant a mercantile clerk, died 21st November 1907 of pneumonia at Kalgoolie, W. Australia.

Mother Barbara M. S. Elliot, 5 Logie Green Road, Edinburgh; is dying of consumption”.

Others are ; William (9) Elspeth (8) both whom are at Donaldson’s Hospital, Edinburgh ; John (3) is kept by the Grandmother Mrs Elliot, who is old and infirm and; quite unable to look after him”.
