on Customer’s hair.
When I started a Forfex Hairdryer cost £1.19 Shillings which were an Apprentice’s Wage for 1 week’s work.
Brylcreem was not cheap but we did sell Gum Tradge which was a Cream that we made in the West Port by the Gallon and sold for 1 Shilling a Bottle. It looked like Brylcreem and it set rock hard. We called it Jungle Juice !!
Wet shaving all but dried up after the Wilkinson Sword Edge Stainless Steel Blade was invented in the early 1960s.
