1965 - Ian Nicol joined the Band in 1965.

About this memory

1965 -Davids voice had been troubling him for some time due to long 3 hour gigs at least 4 times a week. Coming from a choirboy background at St. Mary’s Cathedral Choir and now singing Howlin’ Wolfs Smokestack Lightning and other strong rhythm and blue songs was taking its toll, Ian had experience with our style of material having been in several Bands and was happy to come on board. He took over main vocals on certain numbers and also added a dimension to our harmonies. He became a very popular member of the Band.
Ian Nicol sadly died of a Brain Aneurism in 2011.
