About this memory

This was taken on a night when THE HIPPLE PEOPLE were playing and are waiting to go on or just after their spot as – on the right hand of the picture to the right of the door are seated David – David’s girlfriend Catherine and the drummer Raymond !!!!
The Nash as it was called was situated on Princes Street above Watches of Switzerland and was a hot Club back in the mid 60s.
Many Edinburgh Bands of the time played there – including The Moonrakers – The Beachcombers – Three’s a Crowd and Glasgow Bands like the Hi Fi combo and a superb teenage Band called The Beavers – who did a memorable version of the Beatles I’m Down.!!!!!!
It was obvisously one of the places to go when in town – David can recall vividly seeing Sinky the lead singer of the T Set escorting Roger Daltrey
of The Who through the Club, as they were on a night off when playing in Edinburgh !!!!
The Club was run by a personable Italian called Jimmy Roscio who was father in law to Smiggy – Alias Robert Smith who later became
a Hipple Person before he joined The Writing on the Wall. Then the Pathfinders before eventually moving to the US and is still there playing away in various Bands !!!!!
