About this memory

1965 – On the way back from London we kipped the night in the North East of England.

This was followed by a “dicing with death” incident on a long steep hill at Tow Law, County Durham. Handbrake failed at the top of the hill, and fortunately, Sandy managed to steer the van into a wall which saved us. Remember stopping of at Lauder in the Borders for breakfast.

Damage to the van can be seen in photo.
