2013 - HOWFF tae HIP HOP book written by David Irving and dedicated to THE HIPPLE PEOPLE,

About this memory

2013 – which details the history and characters of Rock and Roll in Scotland and Edinburgh in particular, published in 2013.

Covering the many clubs and dance halls he very kindly assigned the book to THE HIPPLE PEOPLE and in the book explains the influence they had on him with the following quote,

“Playing in Portobello youth club that June night in 1963 was a motley collection of school boys from Broughton who called themselves The Hipple People. They were the first group that I ever saw playing live and I was hooked. I started following The Hipples around from venue to venue: The Aabano, The Top Storey, McGoos. As they grew, up I grew with them”.

Thank you David.
