About this memory

1964 – Pete’s Shop was a Mecca for Edinburgh musicians especially on a Saturday it was packed to the roof !!!!

The Hipple People’s backline amplification was mainly bought there – comprising two Vox Ac 30,S and a Vox Foundation Bass combo.

Pete was a very amiable man who was also a very talented keyboard player himself, and he ran the shop with his trusty side kick George and his two sons. He would bend over backwards to accommodate you and when David spotted the first 6 Channel 100w Selmer pa Amp one Saturday, he managed to talk him into selling him it, even though it was bought in for someone else !!!!

Jim also bought his Antoria 994 Guitar there.

Pete was a legendary figure who looked after his customer’s and they responded to him likewise !!!!
