About To Cut The Cake, 21 November 1980
1980

About this memory
Rob and Norma-Ann Coleman.
“I remember having the sudden urge to do something unconventional during the traditional cake-cutting ceremony. I thought it was great fun but Rob doesn’t look too sure. Touch wood we’re still going strong after 23 years [2003] but the premises involved in our nuptials weren’t so fortunate. The registry office shut down shortly afterwards and is now a gift shop. The hotel in which we had our reception went bust and is now a solicitor’s office. Our honeymoon hotel in Paris has been gutted and refurbished – and is no longer recognisable to us. We still have the photographs though to remind us of three places which remain very special to us.” – Norma-Ann Coleman (née Clayton)
