Alastair W. Forbes – Dean Primary School

Alastair W. Forbes - Dean Primary School

About this memory

My best memory from attending the Dean Primary School was at playtime in the school playground, when I climbed up the wall with the railing’s next to my Gran’s Kitchen Window ( 2 Well Court ) where I shouted to my Gran that I was ready for my play piece.

Gran leaned out the window and passed me my toast on jam and a drink of orange juice and hot orange juice in winter. I got this each day.

Unfortunately, I did not pass my Eleven Plus Test and thus I ended up at Bellevue Secondary School, where as my Big Brother Douglas ( Rest in Peace Doug ) was a smarty pant’s and he went to Broughton High School.

Photograph show’s the school and railing’s which I climbed onto. From left to right depict’s, me, my cousin Jim Cunningham, and my Big Brother Doug.
