Archaeological dig at the Kirkgate in Leith

October 2023
Archaeological dig at the Kirkgate in Leith

About this memory

Open day tours of the archaeological survey between the Kirkgate and Coatfield Lane. The archaeology work was taking place after a section of 20th century social housing had been demolished and before new social housing takes its place. Evidence on the site showed that the area has been occupied since the 1600s.
