Newspaper reporting on the death of one man and serious injury to others due to a rail accident occurring when a freight train on a main line collided with a yard engine shunting freight cars on a side line. Due to a switch being left open, the yard engine shunting the freight cars had made its way onto the main line.

William Stirling was the eldest son of William Symons and Agnes Merrilees. He was born on the 21st May 1884 and died in the above accident on the 23rd December 1911 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada.
