Coalie Park mural

October 2024
Coalie Park mural

About this memory

A brightly painted mural at the revitalised Coalie Park section of the Water of Leith.

The former Water of Leith Coal yard and railway sidings was first named Coalie Park in June 1982 when it was officially opened by the then Lord Provost, Tom Morgan. The redevelopment had transformed the former industrial industrial site into a valuable greenspace. 40 years later, work took place to revitalise the area once more.
