This medallion was presented to Sir Malcolm Smith (1856 – 1935) who was Provost of Leith from 1908 to 1917.

The inscription reads:

“LEITH TOWN COUNCIL 1898 – COUNCILLOR MALCOLM SMITH: Bailie 1900 to 1907; Convenor of Public Health Committee 1903 to 1907; Treasurer and Judge 1907 to 1908; Provost 1908; Re-elected 1911, 1914.”
