Whenever I would have to take a bus from the west end, I liked to stand at the entrance to Queensferry St Lane, and look at this sign. “Accessories” I wonder how old it is. I liked to imagine the laneway in the 1910s, with ladies carefully negotiating the cobblestones on their way to buy exclusive gloves and handkerchiefs.
