Entrance to 1 Chamberlain Road

About this memory

One of Edinburgh’s smallest and most unusual burial grounds can be found beside 1 Chamberlain Road.
It is believed that the Laird of Greenhill, John Livingston and his wife Elizabeth Rigg, died of the plague which swept throughout Edinburgh in 1645. As swift burial was required, they were buried in their grounds.
