“Visit from Dad’s sister Mary. My sister Marion and I were farmed out to another aunt as beds were at a premium. Marion and I were sent to Kettering on holiday by train, by ourselves, in charge of the guard. Quite an adventure in those days.” – Jean Bell (née Bottomley)
