Here I am outside Mrs Weir’s House standing ready to kick the ball,
1949

About this memory
1949 – in the “Auld “Ducks” which was an area opposite the Tannery. To the left was a raised stony area of ground which all the Village children called the “Castle”.
The front Door of Mrs Weir’s house number 29 faced onto Dean Path.
You can see the wooden window shutter that is behind me. At one time I was looking through the window which had no glass and I sadly found Andrew Ford’s dog Rex, that was dead on the floor in the room. Andrew lived in the same stair as me, in number 33 Dean Path.
