Here we are Robert left, Uncle Tom rowing the boat and me on the right having great fun on the river.

1945
Here we are Robert left, Uncle Tom rowing the boat and me on the right having great fun on the river.

About this memory

1945 -The Boat was christened “TORADO” (from our names Tom, Robert and David) and Grandpa even painted the name Torado on the aft of the boat.

Tom taught us to row the boat and how to keep well clear of the waterfall. Once we got older and were strong enough, we were allowed to go out on our own and even with our friends. Some still remember the excitement of sailing on the river.
