High Green, Dean Village

High Green, Dean Village

About this memory

1958 – The High Green (centre left) where we played more in the winter (sledging) than in the summer. My Brother Ian and Harry Smith (formerly of 3 Dean Path Buildings) made us a sledge to slide down the High Green when we had snow.

This photo is lovely as it reminds me of the old Dean Village, before the building of the new 1980’s Housing.

The cobbled street is in the area of Damside with steps leading to the Wooden Bridge.
