On the corner of Leith Library is an illuminated artwork by Rabiya Choudhry, part of a project by the artist for public places intended to “act like a vigil in the dark”.
The design uses a torch motif found on many Carnegie library buildings surrounded by the words of African-American civil rights activist, Ella Baker, “Give light and people will find the way”.
