“Robert was the brother of Helen (who married [my father] Ben Hendry in 1986 after [my mother] died). Robert was in the RAF in the Second World War. His bomber was shot down off the coast of Holland, and he is buried in Holland along with his fellow crew members. [My father] and Helen have visited the cemetery and were made really welcome by the local villagers who tend the graves with great respect to this day.” – Patricia Anderson (née Hendry)
