About this memory
Speedspools was the last of the monotype printers to survive in Edinburgh. Output comprised mainly of specialist publications, such as a Gaelic translation of the Bible.
The owner Harry MacIntosh had over the years acquired a large collection of old printing machinery and dies.
The premises have since been demolished.
