About this memory

1957 – Miss Edmunds was a bit of a snob who looked down on village children and their parents if they did not obey her dictats about the school uniform which she introduced. I remember an argument she had at the classroom door with Mrs Ridgway ( West Mill Lane, Dean Village ) over the colour of her daughter’s hair ribbon. The class was riveted.

Most of our classes were composite because there was only 12 pupils in my class 4 girls and 8 boys.
