About this memory

1948 – I was 5 years old when I started at the Dean School and Mrs Dobson was our Art Teacher.

In each classroom there was a large open fireplace and on the mantlepiece the teachers would put small bottles of milk to warm up for us in the winter.

I liked History, Embroidery & Sewing.

I played with Wendy & Marjory Ridgway, they were twins.. (after school we played on the flat roof of their house in number 2 West Mill Lane opposite the school).

I left the Dean School when I was 12 years old and then went to Bellevue Secondary School.
