My grandmother Margaret, was the child of Robert Legget 1850….and the Family seamstress…..called Sophia
The Legget Family paid for her education and placed her with 2 single ladies in accommodation near the Tannery. She lived her last years in Comrie having been twice married and having given birth to 2 daughters ( one my mother, Sophia ) then 2 sons. I am now 80 and Granny Margaret died when I was 3. She was 60 years old , quite tiny with dark eyes but a formidable woman !
Her mother Sophia was known as The Bonnie Golden Lassie of the Dean. After having her daughter, she left for Canada and the child stayed in Edinburgh .
    So I have been told……..
