My dog’s view of Salisbury Crags, Arthur’s Seat
About this memory
‘Unearthed’-I live so near to Arthur’s Seat and felt taking a photo of the Salisbury Crags was an obvious choice to make as this view is a little of what we see when looking out from our kitchen window. It is also a view we see from the path on a ridge when out walking with our dog. I could not resist photographing what the view is from my dog’s perspective when looking out across to the Crags. In walking these meandering paths near the Crags and climbing Arthur’s Seat itself, I feel lucky seeing rabbits even seen a stoat once, foxes, butterflies and the crow families themselves watching you walk by. For a moment having the brief company of a curious deer during the pandemic was also special. Living so near Arthur’s Seat and hearing the birdsong and sounds of various finches, blackbirds, wrens, and even sparrowhawks and seeing the glow of the gloaming reflected on the Crags itself near sunset, is magical!
