Janet McDonald (third left sitting at table).
Janet’s mother was unwell after Janet’s birth, and so Janet was kept in the maternity hospital for a while, then went to live with an aunt and uncle. When her mother was able to return home, Janet was also able to return, and in addition was given a ‘precious place’ in this day care centre in Leith.
