About this memory

1926 – During the Second World War Robert and I were occasionally sent to stay over in “Craighall” the Le Sueur family house in Aberdour, Fife, with Grandpa and Granny Le Sueur.

The back garden was very steep and we had an Indian Tepee at the top of the garden which we played in and sometimes slept over night.

Grandpa Le Sueur had a small inboard fishing boat and he would take Robert and I out fishing for mackerel in the Firth of Forth.

On one evening when we came back from our fishing trip the tide was very low and Robert and I had to be helped up the ladder on the Quay Side. Grandpa came half way up the ladder and slipped and fell back into the muddy water. We thought he was joking. Sadly he died a few weeks later.
