About this memory

1953 – used to help Shote Brash who looked after “Prince” the Clydesdale horse in the tannery stables and he would sit me on him and let me brush him. Prince pulled the sheepskins on a wooden trailer (cart). Shote was a nickname, his christian name was William.

He lived in a tenement in the far corner of the picture on the right hand side (just out of view which was Number 44 Dean Path opposite the Tannery at the foot of the “Broad Stairs”on the ground floor).
