Ploughing next to the Union Canal.

1950
Ploughing next to the Union Canal.

About this memory

Ploughing on the opposite side of the Union Canal to the Prefabs on Calder Crescent which can be seen in the background.
The field and Clydesdale horses belonged to Mr Towsey who is guiding the plough. His farm was further down the Calder Road opposite the shops at the Silver Wing.
This field would have lasted until the new Bypass was built.
