Queuing for Asda during lockdown - when the first restrictions lifted

About this memory

The day that the first, slight lifting of lockdown restrictions came into place was a Friday (29 May 2020), and the queues for Asda were twice as long as usual, stretching not only down the side of Asda and back, but then off towards the car park too. The first lifting of restrictions allowed people to meet, outdoors only, with people from one other household per day, up to a maximum of 8 people. With a sunny weekend ahead, everyone was preparing for socially-distant barbecues and picnics.
