Publicity photograph form British Ropes – the photograph possibly shows British Ropes’ Doncaster roperie rather than the Leith roperie.

British Ropes Ltd was formed in 1924 and acquired the Edinburgh Roperie And Sailcloth Company in 1926.

Sisal was used to make rope, twine, cloth.

From a collection of JLT Wood including rope works publicity photographs. Mr Wood worked in sales for the company.
