About this memory

Bought by Mr William Traquair Dickson, a Solicitor, in 1893 who restored and added to the House.

Access to the house was gained via a gated driveway on the old Calder Road ,opposite the top of Parkhead Gardens. (See Picture 4)

The house, at the time of the fire, was rented out to a niece of Sir Douglas Haig and her husband Major and Mrs De Pree.

Seen here before the fire on 1st February 1918 which destroyed the building leaving just the shell. (See Pictures 3 and 4)
