About this memory

1944 – HMS Rodney is called upon to intercept the German Battleship DKM BISMARK.

(BISMARK is hit by a Torpedo and losses her steering in a previous engagement.)

HMS Rodney opened fired at 8.47 am, 8.58 am and 10.25 am with heavy gunfire, Bismark responded at 8.49 am and 9.24 am, Bismark suffers major damage yet still attempts to ram HMS Rodney.

With profound fire also from other Royal Navy Ships, Bismark finally sinks to the ocean floor.
