Sighthill Industrial Estate-Golden Wonder Crisp Factory 1960

Sighthill Industrial Estate-Golden Wonder Crisp Factory 1960

About this memory

Following the clearance of the POW Camp in the mid1950s, the area between Bankhead Avenue and Cultins Road became the Sighthill Industrial Estate.
Among the factories which were built on the site were the pictured Golden Wonder Crisps, William Thynes and Burtons Biscuits.
Others included KP Nuts, Milanda Bakers, Schweppes Soft Drinks and the Ethicon Factory.
Thanks to Robert Laird for the photo.
