About this memory
The apple orchard at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital has a collection of particularly old and venerable apple trees. Volunteers have also planted and are caring for new, younger trees. This year has been very dry, but the trees are laden with a huge crop of apples.
Every year I come to the garden at the Royal Edinburgh to buy apples from the orchard for Rosh Hashanah (the new year).
