“My grandfather (maternal) was a regular soldier in the Black Watch, leaving the army as a staff sergeant to return to civilian life. [He] lived in West Bowling Green Street, Leith, and worked in Tod’s Flour Mill in Bonnington Road.” – George McArthur [2004]
