Soldier’s Pay Book issued to James Cullens (no: 217565) , gunner of the 36th Reserve Battery, Royal Field Artillery. Voluntarily enlisting in 1914, James saw active duty in late 1917, when he would have been aged 39 years. Prior to deployment he reported to Redford Barracks, then to Blackheath, London, and then forward to active service in France.
