The Belt 1955

The Belt 1955

About this memory

Used by most teachers as a last resort, the Belt or Tawse was still employed frequently.
Some teachers had belts of different sizes and thickness in their Armoury.
There was always a sinking feeling as the drawer was pulled slowly open to expose this weapon and the words of “This is going to hurt me more than you” were uttered.
It did hurt but not too much.
