About this memory

1907 – Grandpa’s Uncle, Captain James Legget was the Master on the voyage and is pictured top right.

When Grandpa left the Tug Boat “Manati” in Iquitos, Peru he made towards America on his long journey home.

He worked in a Canning Factory in California, USA and for sometime he owned his owned his own Peach Farm.

He spent some time working on a Ranch of the notorious Jesse James but then went on to work for a Dredging Company on Fish Slough, San Jaoquin, Valey, near Tranquilty, California.

I am not sure of his Travels, but with help from Uncle Tom, and abundle of Photographs that he sent home to Blinkbonny , several of which he had written about the place he had arrived at, I am able to tell his Story with a great deal of interest.
