About this memory

1958 – To the right of the railings, for many, decades, this is where the “Villagers” posted their letters.

Attached to the centre of the wall, (although its a black and white photo you can just make out) the wall mounted red post box installed in Queen Victoria’s time, probably sometime in the eighteenth century with her Imperial Cypher “VR” (VICTORIA REGINA) shown on the post box.
