About this memory

2019 – On the right is my very last customer Ian MacDonald who is a friend of many years who brought in a Bottle of Champagne to Toast the End of an Era for Me.

Another aside is our Oldest Customer who is still alive aged 87 is a Douglas Thomson who had 4 Fish Shops around Town and was also Chairman of the Edinburgh Fish Trade and also President of the Scottish Fish Trade and he remembers coming to the West Port in 1959 when, in his words, Charlie Miller was a cheeky wee Apprentice, said in a very warm and friendly way.

Douglas flit between Brougham Street, Comely Bank and Lauriston Place over the years and became a very good friend to both Robin and I and our Families.

In the top right hand corner is a framed National Hairdressing Federation notification which is a Trade Association to which Robert Main and I were members of.
