‘Taken in the kitchen with a Brownie camera. I had to hold the shutter open for a few seconds and for once my wee brother obliged and sat still, although I had disturbed him reading his ‘Topper’. Note the hole in his elbow from past escapades.” – Jean Bell (née Bottomley)
