Young Boy With Toy Wooden Horse 1923

About this memory

J Douglas Clayton, aged four.

“Young Douglas was brought up by his mother, Isabella Crawford McKay Clayton, a ‘weel-kent’ face in the Royal Burgh of Irvine because she had been a pupil-teacher at the local school. She then owned a sweetie shop in the town and made her own ice cream in the back shop when ice was available.” – Norma-Ann Coleman (née Clayton)
