Young Girl With Doll Outside Caravan At Howgate, Penicuik 1953
1953

About this memory
Maureen Noble (aged five).
“Our caravan was a single decker bus. The wooden structure was built on by my Uncle Robert to house the fire.
“The caravan sat in Mr Elliott’s field and had a dry toilet outside. Water was from a pump at the farmhouse, and we cooked on the fire or a primus stove, and light was from a Tilley lamp.” – Maureen Sweeney (née Noble) [2019]
