John and I had recently revisited Well Court in the Dean Village to show our Australian grandchildren where we started our married life in 1961. This period also coincides with John’s medical studies at Edinburgh University.

I trawled through my collection of photographs and was able to find a number from the 1960s plus more recent ones. I made a photo album for the Dean Village celebration to add to their collection of historical data. This booklet is really a companion volume to my photo booklet.

The greater part of this little volume comprises letters written by John, when a medical Student, to me in London about his experience of buying and moving in to 39 Well Court, Dean Village, Edinburgh in 1960. The latter part of the book relates some history of the Dean Village and life there in the 60s. It ends with us moving in as a married couple the following year.
