Children Having Picnic In The Old Quarry At Auchtermuchty 1951

About this memory

Evelyn Whitfield (née Sime, right) with brother Harry, and cousin Evelyn Ogg.

“We used the barrow to trundle the tent, the kettle, and all the picnic things up to the old quarry. The ‘table’ is a sheet of corrugated iron we found lying around. The cardboard box must have contained ‘Oxydol’ which was a washing powder. The quarry was about half an hour’s walk from our house.” – Evelyn Whitfield
